Dobell Prize for Drawing 2008
The Dobell Prize for Drawing celebrates all Australian scribblers of all styles, so long as it involves drawing on paper. From traditional practice with pen, pencil, ink and charcoal to more contemporary uses of pastels, water colours and collage, this is a unique and rich tribute to fine detailed art and delicate penmanship.
Last year’s winner, Ana Pollack, won the judges’ praise with Mullet Creek, a minimalist landscape drawing of a riverbed and reeds. The work, inspired by the artist’s home on Dangar Island north of Sydney, beat over 500 entries to take out a prize of $20,000.
The Dobell Prize will be showing at the Art Gallery of NSW until the 9th November 2008. The winner for 2008 is………. click here
