two – 1000 cans exhibition
Inspired by the Japanese story of Sadako Sasaki and the 1000 paper cranes , 1000 cans is set to be a brilliant debut exhibition for the japanese born melbourne based artist Hiroyasu Tsuri , locally known as ‘two’. In May 2006 two began painting old spray cans, turning them into 1000 separate works of art.
For two, the long term solitary project symbolises more than the opportunity to show his work, it represents a visual diary of how his skills and ideas have progressed over the intensive 18 month process. The exhibition opens in Sydney at the Global Gallery from Friday the 4th April until the 18th April 2008.
