Writenow competition
Sydney Writers’ Festival invites students in Years 7 to 9 in NSW and ACT to take part in the Writenow competition 2008 .
Choose one of the three ‘story starters’ provided by best-selling children’s authors – J.C. Burke, Michael Gerard Bauer and Ursula Dubosarsky – then continue the narrative, completing a short story of no more than 1000 words in total.
Entries must be the original work of the student, written during 2008. Prizes will be awarded in three categories according to school year. Winners will receive an MP4 Player, a $100 BigPond Music Voucher and a $250 book pack as well as a book pack of the same value for their school.
Entries close Friday 11th April 2008. Winning entries will be published in The Sydney Morning Herald – Education and Sydney Writers’ Festival websites. Prizes will be presented at the Sydney Writers’ Festival School Days at the Sydney Theatre, Walsh Bay on Wednesday 21st May.
